How we approach this
New medicines, and new possibilities in medicine, rest on sustained basic research, on academic dialogue, and on the researchers and clinicians of the next generation.
Advalife Science reinvests the knowledge and value arising from its research, drug discovery and clinical work into the research and education that follow, seeking a circulation of scientific and social value that is not confined to short-term business results. In working with universities and research institutes, we respect the independence of research and the integrity of science.

Research support
Through basic research at universities and research institutes, new fields of study, joint research and endowed courses, we support the creation of scientific knowledge and the development of the research base.
Education and people
We support the training of the next generation of researchers and clinicians, the creation of opportunities to research and to teach, and academic work that deepens expertise.
Academic exchange
We support conferences, symposia and dialogue between researchers — occasions for scientific exchange and the sharing of knowledge across disciplines and across borders.

Principles of support
Support for, and collaboration in, research and education proceeds through consultation with the institution concerned, its internal procedures, a contract and whatever else is required. Where we provide support, we respect the independence of the research findings and of academic judgement, and manage conflicts of interest and intellectual property accordingly.
