On 13 October 2026, Future Health Systems: Securing Wellbeing in a Changing World — an international symposium presented in collaboration with Nature Partnerships — will be held at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Specialists from medicine, the life sciences and many other fields will come together to discuss human and planetary health, and the health systems of the future.

SCIENCE
Searching for new drug candidates through the lens of complex systems, and carrying them from research to the clinic.
Rather than reduce biology to a single component or a single target, we treat it as a system — one involving many components, many targets and many pathways acting on one another. Bringing together what we learn about mechanism of action, quality, manufacturing and CMC, non-clinical work and the clinic, we test the possibilities of new medicines scientifically.
STEP 01 / DISCOVERY
Drug discovery research
We search for new drug candidates and analyse their composition and properties, their mechanism of action and how they interact within the body. Joint research with universities and research institutes deepens that scientific understanding.
STEP 02 ／ CMC
Manufacturing and CMC
For each candidate we work out the process, the quality attributes, the specifications and the stability, turning what was learned in research into manufacturing and quality management that can be reproduced.
STEP 03 ／ CLINICAL
Clinical trials and clinical development
Clinical development support and our network of healthcare institutions work together on study design, clinical trials, monitoring, data management, statistical analysis and the accumulation of real-world data — the structure through which research findings reach the clinic.

Questions that arise in the clinic are carried into research; what research yields is carried into drug discovery and back to the clinic. It is from this circulation that we pursue the possibilities of new medicines.
